Abstract
It is very difficult to analyze and classify the errors made by the Korean students learning German. There are many reasons for the errors of the students. Interference and overgeneralization are specific signs for the errors of Korean students. Interference is caused by the differences in the structures between Korean and German; especially differences between the rection of a German verb and that of its Korean equivalent cause severe interference. Typical cases of different rections in German and Korean can be divided into five groups: a. a German accusative object becomes a Korean indirect object; b. a German dative object becomes a Korean direct object; c. a German genitive object becomes a Korean direct object; d. a German prepositional noun becomes a Korean direct object and e. a German accusative object becomes a Korean adverbial. Overgeneralizations are caused by insufficient training and teaching methods. It is necessary that teachers of German language should collect the errors in class and analyze them.
