국내외 문화적 맥락에서의 자기결정에 대한 이해 및 현장 적용을 위한 고찰

Abstract

장애학생의 자기결정 증진은 성인기로의 성공적인 전환과 삶의 질 향상을 위한 최상의 실제로 간주되고 있다. 자기결정이 서구 문화에 근간을 두고 있음을 고려할 때, 각 나라의 문화적 토대에서 자기결정의 개념을 이해하고 적용하는 것이 자기결정의 성공적인 적용을 위해 필수적이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내외 문화적 맥락에서의 자기결정에 대한 장애학생, 부모, 교사의 인식 및 자기결정 영향요인에 대한 분석을 통해 자기결정의 국내 특수교육 현장으로의 적용과 미래 연구방안을 고찰하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 자기결정에 대한 인식 및 영향요인을 다룬 국내외 논문들 중 최종 선정된 총 24편의 논문에 대한 문헌분석을 통해 1) 연구주제, 연구대상, 연구방법에 따른 연구동향, 2) 국내외 문화적 맥락에서 자기결정에 대한 인식, 3) 자기결정에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 조사하고, 이를 바탕으로 장애학생의 자기결정 증진을 위한 현장적용과 미래 연구들을 위한 제언들을 제시하였다.

Promoting self-determination of students with disabilities has been considered as a best practice for successful transition to adulthood and in improving quality of life of students with disabilities. Given that self-determination was based on western cultural background, it is important to understand and implement self-determination within each country's own cultural context. In this respect, the purpose of this study is to understand self-determination within Korean cultural contexts through cross-cultural comparison of perceptions of students with disabilities, their parents, and teachers regarding self-determination, in order to provide meaningful implications for promoting self-determination of students disabilities. For this purpose, a total of 24 articles were identified and analyzed, which addressed perceptions of self-determinations and possible factors that influenced self-determination of students with disabilities. As result of analyses of the articles, the following information was provided including: (a) current trend of research about self-determination, (b) cross-cultural comparison of perceptions of self-determination, (c) factors that influenced self-determination, and (d) implications for application of and future research on self-determination.
