Abstract

Except for a mixed type of hepatoblastoma in childhood, neoplastic squamous cell component is extremely rare in any malignant epithelial tumor of the liver. Only a few cases of primary squamous cell carcinoma arising from the preexisting cyst of the liver have been reported by Greenwood (1972) and Edmonson (1958). Mucoepidermoid carcinoma, on the other hand, consists of mixture of squamous cell and mucin-producing cell component, occuring predominantly in the salivary glands, lung, and very rarely in the liver (Pianzola & Ricardo, 1971) . We add a case of intrahepatic mucoepi 、de r moid carcinoma to support its histogenesis as a variant of peripheral cholangiocarcinoma
