- Abstract
- Given that the affective side of language learning contributes in a significant way to enriching learners language learning, this paper aims to propose the need for integrating a humanistic approach into both language learning process and language classroom. Exploring various benefits of using English literary works as language materials for promoting the humanistic approach, this paper suggests a major paradigmatic shift in the field of TEFL. This shift will usher in a radic머 movement away from traditional approaches' to ' experiential approaches' through English literature, because it emphasizes process, self-esteem, social skills, cooperative learning, dynamic curriculum, intrinsic motivation. meaning-based activities, and authentic assessment.
