外來語 受容方式에 대한 고찰 : 英ㆍ佛ㆍ中ㆍ日의 예를 중심으로

Abstract

In this paper the ways of borrowing and adapting foreign words in the English, French, Chinese and Japanese languages are surveyed. Finding out some general ways of the adaptation or naturalization of loan-words, the writer makes a comment on the current Korean method of transliterating foreign words in Hanngul by the principle of one-to-one correspondence between a foreign phoneme and a Korean one, and suggests that the natural ways of the Korean word-formation should be studied and applied to the forms of foreign words in use in Korean for easier pronunciation and better memorization.
